Moisturizer of the Day

Tip of the day: Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize. (As if I haven't said this for a million or so times!)

I shouldn't need to say more, should I? :-) But really, be it internally or externally, it's good to feel well hydrated. For me, drinking lots of water will go along way in keeping our body and skin hydrated. Also, applying a good moisturizing lotion/cream on the skin can do the trick.

Now speaking about moisturizing lotions, I've got to admit that I'm a big fan. And the more natural, the better. Given that background, you can just imagine how thrilled I am to try the SkinMD Natural.

Yup, very recently, I received a bottle and few packets of it. I've read its label and I could hardly wait to try it out seeing that it is made up of some of ingredients that I especially love, namely Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Chamomile.

But SkinMD Natural is more than a regular moisturizing lotion. It is a shielding lotion, too. You may want to ask, so how can it make a difference then?

A Shielding Lotion enhances the skin's own natural protective abilities by turning the outer layer of skin into what could be described as a hydrating invisible shield. This makes Shielding Lotions many times more effective than mere "protective lotions and moisturizing creams".

And from the expert, let me quote this:

"Shielding lotion is a lotion that forms a protective barrier on the skin and keeps out irritants and chemicals. It also allows the natural oils and moisture to remain in the skin so it can heal better. It is a big advantage that shielding lotions are light and go on without a greasy mess," says Dr. Brian Zogg, a dermatologist in Albert Lea, MN.

And I have to affirm. For 3 straight days that I've been applying a small amount of it on my hands and legs, I can see a difference. When I tried to draw a line on my skin with my fingernail, I couldn't make out any line today. It's very economical too since a pea-size is already enough to cover a wide area of the skin. It is very light and certainly not icky greasy or sticky. Most of all, it doesn't give off disturbing odor.

SkinMD Natural, a hypo-allergenic and paraben-free product, is definitely good for the skin.
