Caring For Your Kissing Tool

Your lips is your kissing tool. But are there times your pucker is chapped, cracked, dry and rough?
Worry not, you're not alone. Once in a while, I get that too. I'm not sure what really causes this. They say, it must be because of lack of sleep. Others say the cause could be linked to weather conditions. But whatever the cause is, here are simple and inexpensive ways to combat chapped, dry lips.
  • Honey. It is a natural moisturizer and a yummy one at that. Just dab some on the lips for a delcious treatment.

  • Cucumber peel. Rub gently on the lips to soothe the dryness.

  • Water. It helps to moisturize the skin from within. Drink lots of it to replenish what you've lost within the day.

  • Petroleum Jelly. Apply an ample amount on the lips and with a cloth, gently rub lips to exfoliate dead cells. Reapply another layer and leave overnight.

You can also exfoliate the dead cells when you are brushing the teeth by including your lips in the process. Gently brush it with soft-bristled toothbrush. If using a toothbrush is too strong for you, use your fingers (pointer or middle or both) to rub your wet lips. For a smackingly soft finish, apply a layer of lip balm. Or a repacked petroleum jelly will do. It would help if you keep one of these in your purse in case you want to reapply.
